| HEY! I can not believe that the USA vs Canada hockey game was not on prime time Hi-Def television. What were they thinking? Hockey has been around for a long time and it still has not won the respect of all sports junkies. How can hockey get more notoriety? It's simple, find a minority that's better than any hockey player that has ever lived. It worked for golf. More than likely that will never happen because hockey will never be popular in urban areas. Ice rinks are expensive and hard to maintain. It's much easier to play pickup basketball, baseball, football, soccer, and softball because all that's needed is space. I like hockey because they fight and draw blood. Arrrrrg! |

I think you may be on to something, TSykes. I think that hockey certainly does need an unusual standout in order to gain the major respect it probably deserves. It is considered to be a predominately Caucasian sport, but i know it still has an insane fanbase. There are a few brokers in my office who play hockey on the weekend on leagues. Fit men! lol
ReplyDeleteI don't really care for sports (especially Hockey). However, I think you are right about hockey not being a sport in the urban community. Although, now that we've got this tennis and golf thing down, who knows....
ReplyDeleteIt will never be popular in the hood because brothers are not going to let a stick or puck mess up their grill. Who wants to look like Leon Spinks (I ain't got no teefus). I think Betta LoSardo plays hockey, she did have a picture of herself suited up posted on her door (go figure). I know as a woman, I am not about to deal with no toothless man, I don't care how much money he has. (hee hee)
